The one rule of lemon
Lemon is the signature note, reserved for the logo badge and the occasional single accent. It is never a background wash. On a page, lemon should appear once or twice at most: as the badge, or as one standout button. Emphasis, hierarchy, and state all run through ink and blue. If a layout leans on large lemon fills to feel branded, the hierarchy is wrong. Fix the hierarchy.

Clear space, minimum size, and don'ts

  • Clear space equals the badge height on all four sides. Nothing intrudes.
  • Minimum size: wordmark at 18px height on screen, badge at 16px.
  • Never recolor the lemon badge. The badge fill is always #E0FF4F (the app-icon variant uses its own #DAFF33, kept separate from the wordmark badge).
  • Never separate the badge from the wordmark below minimum size.
  • Only place the lockup on white, surface, or ink. Never on mid-tones.
  • Never place the logo on a busy or photographic background.

Dark sections invert to ink with white type. Lemon carries the mono eyebrow, blue carries the interactive path, cyan softens. This is the same system, reversed, used sparingly for contrast.

The state scheme
Nebius codes state with its own palette, not the usual traffic lights. Blue carries interactive and info, blue deep carries success and error, and ink carries neutral emphasis and warning. No red, amber, or green is introduced. Because the palette has no red, error is expressed through the darker blue deep plus stronger ink, stated explicitly so the system stays honest and on-brand.

Two radii carry the brand: pill 24px for every button, and card 16px for panels. Smaller 12px and 8px values are used for nested surfaces, pills, and inputs. Nothing is fully rounded, nothing is sharp-cornered. The scale stays engineered and consistent.

Open the artifact next to nebius.com. If it reads as engineered, flat, and calm, it passes. If it has soft shadows, glowing accents, gradient bars, or a lemon wash, it reads as generated and it fails. The real site is ink on white, flat, and quiet. Match that restraint.

Kill on sight

  • Drop shadows and box-shadow blur on cards or buttons.
  • Text glows and soft outer bloom on headings.
  • Gradient accent bars and gradient page backgrounds.
  • Lemon used as a large background wash or section fill.
  • Em-dashes in any copy.
  • Purple or teal AI-default sheen anywhere near the palette.

Keep instead

  • Flat white and surface fills with no elevation.

Ship checklist
Before shipping: grep for box-shadow and text-shadow and confirm they are absent or hairline only. Confirm there are no em-dashes in the copy. Open the artifact at 375px and on desktop, and confirm no horizontal scroll and no lemon wash. If all four pass, it is on-brand.
